The Great
I would be doing everyone a disservice if I did not introduce our oldest son Matthew "The Great" Tucker. On April 29, 2013 he entered the world full steam ahead and he hasn't looked back. You never know what to expect with your first child and to be honest that little 7 lb 10 oz. baby was intimidating. I think he knew this because he ended up being the easiest baby known to man. Sorry ME you already know this is not an accurate depiction of you guys. For those who have had the pleasure of meeting Matthew you can verify in the comments section that all of my statements are true.
The title "The Great" was given to Matthew in August 2013. He had just completed his first tummy to back roll over and we were ecstatic. I mean only greatness can come from such a little dude who did this monstrous feat at three months.....the age most infants roll over. It solidified what we already knew....Matthew was the best! Over the last three years he continues to amaze and surprise us with his brilliance and dare I say, greatness. I'm not biased at all! To know Matthew is to love him. Unless you're the evil Shayla who thinks my son is "mean and rude". Shayla came to this conclusion after babysitting him when he was 14 months and he wouldn't stop crying. Shayla you should do some self reflection because obviously it was you!
If you have been reading my blog then you are familiar with my love of superheroes and comic book figures. So can you guess Matthew's alter ego? That's right it's Superman! Matthew has great speed, strength, intelligence and he's handsome. The Great" can run from end of the house to other quicker than I can say "stop running the twins are sleeping". He can jump from the stairs to dunk his basketball in a single bound. When I say "look at me when I'm talking to you" he bats his eyes and causes me to break down in laughter. His powers are unstoppable and his greatness immeasurable. I'm just fortunate enough to be his mom.
Uh oh here he comes..."no you cannot have a cookie before dinner". Here we go with the power of whining but this time I will remain strong. I immediately point to the whining/crying chair. That is his kryptonite and after mentioning the chair all is quiet. Matthew understands that being sent to sit in the chair will weaken him so he "decides" to eat his dinner. I love my son but I'm not delusional, after all I am the Greatest.
