We made it home safely from the hospital. The whole crew piled up in the car not really knowing what to think or expect. Heard the countless stories, loaded with tons advice and now that reality was setting in; I sat on the floor and stared at the babies. Two...two...two the same age, born the same day with our last name. Well let's find about them and see what role they will play in our family.
Madelyn "The General" Tucker was born two minutes before her brother and she has already taken great pride in being the oldest twin. How do I know that? Well we didn't give her the name "The General" for nothing!! According to the dictionary general means someone who holds superior rank or taking precedence over others similarly titled. I know you're asking how can a newborn baby have such a strong title but it's true she really is in control.
Example one: The husband walked into the hospital room after dropping off our oldest child ("The Great") at daycare. As I sat on the bed with "The General" lying down beside me, the husband made a beeline for "The General" and gave her a greeting befitting a queen. I sat on the bed thoroughly confused because as the wife I was expecting that type of greeting. It didn't stop there he picked her up and proceeded to sit on the couch and carry on a conversation about the morning happenings. Was my husband checking in with a one day old newborn? Am I still waiting for my morning hug and kiss? "The General" had officially taken precedence over the wife. The husband had fallen into formation (thanks Beyoncé).
It doesn't stop there....no not only is she "The General" but she reminds me of the X-men great Jean Grey. Yes that's right at 6 weeks old she can control read minds and control your brain. Whenever she cries what do we do? We pick her up instantly. If that isn't enough she then causes our feet to shuffle forward to create motion. We have been known to walk around the house for long periods of time without stopping just to please "The General".
So there you have it our little Madelyn such a sweet, loving, bossy baby girl. I don't think she knows the depths of her powers which for us can be a bit scary. It's ok we hope that providing balance and much prayer we can use those powers for the greater good. Its quite evident that one day she will "Run the World" (love Beyoncé). Well gotta go I've been summoned...
